TCS Recruits American Technology Professionals

Thursday July 19 by Press Release Submission
Phoenix - While other technology firms are "cutting back," TATA Consultancy Services continues to grow in the United States. This month, TCS achieved a company milestone by hiring its largest-ever cadre of new, American high-tech talent. TCS is based in India and has been expanding its U.S. operation, known as TCS America.

"TCS America is attracting some of the nation's best technology professionals," said Arup Gupta, president of TCS America. "Our investment and expansion in the United States is paying off. We've become a recognizable force in the technology and strategy consulting arena - and that has become a major magnet for current job seekers." TCS is a $689 million company with the majority of revenues from U.S. projects.

TCS has drawn up ambitious plans to recruit and train U.S. University graduates in state-of-the-art technology. The company has been taking part in career fairs throughout the United States and sponsoring special international business seminars at some of the nation's most prestigious universities, including Harvard Business School and the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School.

"Eleven new recruits may not sound like a lot to many outsiders, but for TCS, this is a significant sign that we're building up our presence in North America," said Gupta. "TCS has a record of recruiting and training only the top graduates and post graduates from the world's leading universities; plus only the finest of available professional hires." Last month, 6,150 such professionals worldwide applied to TCS for professional jobs. Of those, after TCS's rigorous testing regiment and interview process, 157 were offered employment.

The new recruits will take part in a rigorous training program in Phoenix, AZ, near TCS' largest U.S.-based offsite development center. The training program will includes courses in Software Development Process, Systems Engineering, Requirements Engineering, Internet Technology, and Object Technology.
